Grave
This is one of my favorite still lives I created. I started setting this up with the pomegranates. I then went to the oranges and then the skull. I had to play around a lot with the oranges to get the skull to actually balance on it but it was worth the effort. I really like this still life because it represents how something bad can be hidden in the good.

I created this still life with bananas and gourds. I really like this one because there is one gourd that's shaped a little bit like a fat banana. I started by putting the bananas on the table, then experimented with placing the gourds on and around them. This still life represents how even though things may appear different, they do not have to be separated.

Imposter (fresco)
Departed
I created this still life with flowers I found in my house. I started by taking the flowers out of the vase. I then moved the little pieces that fell off around the flowers to make it look like they naturally fell. This still life represents a piece of something dying. Even if a piece of it is gone, it can still live on.
Earthy (palette knife)
Retry
Fail (rough pastels)
Climb
I created this still life by drawing faces on sticky notes then placing them onto a pineapple. This one was really fun. I think that it was fun because I was able to create different facial expressions for each sticky not. I experimented with placing the different expressions in different places to show how they felt when progressing up the pineapple. This represents how your feelings change as you accomplish different tasks.

Sorrow (neon glow)
Fallen (paint daubs)
Pressed (plastic wrap)
Misunderstood (poster edges)
This still life was created by a writing pad and pen I found in my room. I decided it would be fun to write on the pages then tare some out. I experimented a lot with the placing of the torn pages. I also had fun moving the pen around. This represents how difficult it is to express your feeling, even through writing.
