Humans inhabit only 10% of the earth. However another 80% of the earths covered in connected with roads, highways, farmlands, and more man made objects. This leaves only 10% of the earth open to nature. Nature is a beautiful thing but humans are destroying it. This self portrait collage utilizes the beauty of nature to show how we should preserve and protect it. There is a total of six layers here. The first layer is a picture of myself. The second layer is a photo of beautiful red and yellow tulips. I love flowers and there are often times flowers in my house. The third layer is daisies. These were found on the side of the road as I was taking a walk. The fourth layer is a sunset I saw when I was driving home one day. I absolutely love sunsets and I think they are so beautiful. I enjoy staying up to watch the sunset. The fifth layer is a sunrise I saw when driving to school. I got out of the car and took a picture of it because I thought that it was so beautiful. The last layer is a picture of the river by my house. I enhanced these photos using photoshop. One thingI think really helped make this photo come together was increasing the vibrance of the sunset and tulips. These beautiful sights found in nature represent the 10% of nature uncovered by manmade objects.

This photo uses a picture of a tree for my layer. This is similar to my selfie because it has the theme of nature. Both photos have something on or around the eyes which is the focal point of the image. However, for my double exposure, the eyes are emphasized even more with the tree branches weaving around them. I like both images but i think the placement of the layer in the double exposure looks more thought out. This class has caused me to grow so much. I know so much more about photography. I know how to create a well composed and balanced photo. I am now able to take photos with more meaning than I knew possible.
